About Kari

I am a career-long creative producer with extensive experience working with innovative content production companies across all platforms. 

I have worked across multiple platforms, in both above and below the line roles through all stages of development and production (Development/Producer/EP/Line Producer/PM). 

With my several years of experience in executive leadership and business development - this has allowed me to build companies with content at the core (film, music, commercial, music video production). Managing and working with established and up and coming voices at every level of production.

Diversity and inclusion has always been part of my personal and professional mandate. This includes actively supporting and hiring talent who are BIPOC and supporting and mentoring  many women in roles as varied as production assistants, directors, writers and DP’s. I love spotting and nurturing talent, working with writers to develop and refine their scripts, pitches, and helping them create opportunities to get the green lights from early on in their career. 

I hold a deep understanding of content creation from every level. I am able to tell a story, pitch an idea, work with talent, and recognize how to protect the creative and the business side of a project. I am a rare combination of an executive who also has a wealth of practical production experience. I understand the decision making process, and practical work involved at all levels. 

 I have established long standing relationships with fellow collaborators includes; writers, directors, cast, crew and vendors/suppliers in Toronto, across Canada, as well as the U.S.
